McDougall William B. As the result of an accident at Coleman, on Jan. 19th, William B. McDougall, aged 39 years, leaving a wife and five children to mourn[2]
A fatal railway accident occurred at Coleman Station Saturday morning by which William B. McDougall, blacksmith, of that place lost his life. As the train from Tignish was coming to Coleman Station, about 7:30 McDougall attempted to cross the track in front of the engine. He was caught between the engine and the platform and drawn under the wheels where he was horribly mangled. After being carried into the station he was still breathing and he was immediately put in the baggage car and the train was run back to O'Leary as there is no doctor at Coleman. But the unfortunate man breathed his last before the train reached O'Leary. Deceased was about 46 years of age and leaves a wife and five or 6 children. He intended to go to Summerside on the train. An inquest was held at O'Leary Saturday afternoon, when a verdict of accidental death was recorded. [3]
