1812 - Married Agnes Kirk in Rutherford County about this time.
1820 - Enumerated on this census for Rutherford. Kirk and Jetton families are listed right above them.
1822 - This McEwen family moves to western Tennessee and settles in Henderson County. Son William is born here in 1822. Many of Agnes' siblings and her mother have also moved to Henderson/Madison area about this time. The McEwens may be the last to arrive. Farm near Mifflin on Forked Deer River.
1826 - James is granted a land warrant on 10 Oct 1826 for land in Henderson County.
1830 - Enumerated on this census and Tax List - 6 boys and 2 girls.
1837 - Pays tax on 156 acres of land (valued $500) and one slave (valued $400).
1840 - Not found on this Census.
1847 - James Died - This year is noted in the "History of Carroll Co. TN" articles on William McEwen. No mention of Agnes.
