When Minnie was 18 she married Nathaniel (Than) Cicero Hawks on 13 September 1900 in Grayson County, Virginia.[3] The couple had 10 children: Mollie Leona Hawks, Garve Romey Hawks, Bertha Hawks, Ila Lou Hawks, Zora Marie Hawks, Living Hawks, Lillian Fern Hawks, Pearl Inese Hawks, Margie Doretha Hawks and and infant girl who was still born on 21 Jul 1928.[4]
