He voyaged to Boston, MA from St. George, New Brunswick in 1841. This may have been the return leg of a visit home to Ireland (as his younger sister Margaret was born in Ireland, according to the 1850 census).

He passed away 13 October 1880 "age 45" and is buried at Saint Patrick Cemetery in a family plot.
