1869 Birth Tom Green Medlock was the son of Martha Green and William Medlock. His parents were living in Quadring, near Spalding, at the time of his birth [1]
1871 Baptism: Tom was baptised at Quadring St Margaret's on 14 May 1871. His parents were William Berry Medlock, a labourer, and Martha Medlock of Quadring North Drove. [1] [2]
1871 Census: The Medlock's are living at Quadring North Drove. Tom's Dad, William, is 44 and was born in Bedfordshire, his Mum, Martha, is 39 and was born in Lincolnshire. The children at home are Tom, 3, Joseph 18, Mary Ann 13 and William 6. All the children were born in Lincolnshire [3]
1881 Census: Tom (Tim transcription error) Green Medlock, now 12 years old, and his sister Elizabeth, age 9, are staying with their brother Joseph Medlock and his wife, Elizabeth, at Forty Foot Bank, Skirbeck Quarter, near Boston, Lincolnshire [4]
1891 Census: We find Tom back at home in Quadring North Drove with his parents, his sister Lizzie and his 8 year old nephew Sidney William Hugh. Dad, William Berry is a Farmer and Tom is a Farmer's Assistant. [5]
1897 Marriage: to [Callaby-45|Mary (Callaby) Medlock]] on 8 July 1897 at the church of Quadring St Margaret's. Mary is 21 and her father was Ham Callaby (a deceased Signalman). Tom is 29 and a Contractor. I think that Mary was born in Norfolk [2] [6]

1899 Birth of Daughter: Annie Honor Medlock. Annie was baptised on 6 August 1889 at Quadring St Margaret's. [3] [8]

1901 Census: Tom is 32 and he is a Drain Roader. He and Mary Jane have two children at home, Viva Honor Medlock and Ivy Hannah Medlock [11]

1911 Census: At the time the 1911 Census was taken Tom and Mary Jane have been married 13 years and have had eight children. All the children are still living and seven are at home in Quadring on Census night. They are Viva, Ivy, Tom, Joe, Robert, Violet and baby George, who is just 1 month old. Dad Tom is a Navvy working on the canals. [17]

1934 Death: Tom passed away on 16 February 1934. He was 65. He is buried in Gosberton Cemetery. Sarah Draper comments in Ancestry.com that: The grave is on the right hand side of the cemetery as you enter the main gates, about halfway down by the footpath. She has also published a photo of the headstone. His wife (died 20 July 1943) and Son George Victor Medlock (who died on 10 June 1939) are also buried in this plot. [5] [21] His obituary in the Lincolnshire and Boston Guardian calls him a member of one of the most respected families in Quadring Fen. He left a widow, five sons and six daughters. The funeral was held in S.S. Gilbert and Hugh's church, Gosberton Clough. [22]
