  • Alloa is a town located in the county of Dumfriesshire, Scotland. It is situated on the north bank of the River Forth, approximately 5.5 miles east of Stirling and 7.9 miles north of Falkirk.
  • Comrie village and parish is in the southern Highlands of Scotland, towards the western end of the Strathearn district of Perth and Kinross, 7 miles west of Crieff. Comrie is an historic conservation town area along the river Earn. PLEASE NOTE: that the Village of Comrie, is a completely different place from ‘Comrie Castle’ which is located in the Strathtay near Kenmore. They are two different locations.

According to the dates son john would have been born before parents daniel and janet smart would have been married ? im thinking the john menzies son of daniel and janet smart was born more around 1792

there is also another john menzies son of Daniel Menzies and janet reid who was christened 15 april 1781 so i would assume the dates are just getting mixed between the two
