Biography

PERSPECTIVE:

This person and the creation of this profile and the research associated is part of an attempt to identify all the descendants of a George Zacharias Hatstat (Hattstatt-1), who was a Prussian soldier hired by the British to fight against the American colonists in the American Revolutionary War. George's British transport ship (The Favourite) was captured near Boston Harbor and he was sent to a POW camp 1st in Boston and then in Rutland, Massachusetts. After the war he married a local girl and raised a large family in and around Petersham, Massachusetts. George is believed to be the 1st Hatstat in the America's. This Ermina Merriam is a granddaughter of that George.
