Biography

Elmeda Metcalf was born on 27 August 1911 in Alabama, United States. She was the daughter of Amos Harvey Metcalf (1879–1962) and Carl Muncy Chancey (1888–1983).

When the 1920 United States Census was taken, Elmed Metcalf was 8 years old. She was living in the household of her father, Amos H. Metcalf, in Clintonville, Coffee County, Alabama, along with her mother, Carl, and 4 siblings--Frances, Ray, Mary E., and Mildred J.^[1]

Elmeda was living with her parents, Amos and Carl Metcalf, in Clintonville, Coffee County, Alabama when the 1930 United States Census was taken. Elmeda was 18 years old. Four of her siblings--Mary E., Mildred, Virginia, and Frances were also members of the household.^[2]

Elmeda (Metcalf) Ellis died on 04 June 2009 at the age of 97. She was buried in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Enterprise, Coffee County, Alabama.^[3]
