Retired Adams County Farmer Dies of Pneumonia at Magley George W. Miller, 80, a retired farmer of route 4, Decatur, died at his home Thursday evening at 5:30 o'clock. Death was due to pneumonia. Mr. Miller had been ailing with palsy for several years. A few weeks ago he developed pneumonia and his condition gradually became worse. He died last evening while sleeping. The deceased was born in Augusta County, Virginia, December 14, 1852, the son of Joseph and Barbara Miller. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Miller, who preceded him in death on October 5, 1907. Seven children were born to the union, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Miller was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. He moved to Ohio from Virginia in 1874 and came to Indiana in 1901. He had made his home in Magley since 1919. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Nettie Carpenter, Hufsmith, Texas; Mrs. Mary Schwenk, Loganton, Pennsylvania; S. A. Miller, Denver, Colorado; E. J. Miller, Kirkland township, and Olive and Emma Miller at home. Five brothers and two sisters also survive. They are A. A. Miller of Bolar, Virginia; A. J. Miller, E. J. Miller, J. B. Miller, Miss Anna R. Miller, and Mrs. D. S. Thomas, all of Bridgewater, Virginia, and J. T. Miller of Indianapolis. Seventeen grandchildren and four great- grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. The Rev. D. M. Byerly will officiate. Burial will be made in the cemetery near the church. The body was taken to the S. E. Black Funeral Parlors and will be removed to the home at Magley, this evening.
