Biography

William was born in 1745 at Warren, Rhode Island, the son of Nathan Miller and Patience Turner.[1]

William married Lydia Cockram in 1766 at Warren.[2] She died on 27 March 1816.

William married second on 18 May 1817 Lydia Cochrane, niece of his first wife.

William died in 1823 at was buried at the North Burial Ground at Warren.[3] The will of William Turner Miller of Warren, esquire, is dated 7 February 1818 and was proved 4 August 1823. In it he leaves all of his property to his wife Lydia.

William appears as head of household at Warren in the 1774 Census of Rhode Island[4]. His household distribution and inferred attributions are:

  • one white male under 16: unknown
  • one white female over 16: wife Lydia
  • one black male under 16: unknown
