Biography

Obituary

Paul Ernest Ming passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on March 31, 1931 to John Clyde Ming and Juanita Mae Mills Ming. He was a US Army Korean combat veteran, having served as a medic from 1948 to 1952 and attaining the rank of master sergeant. He was honored with the Soldiers Medal in addition to other awards and decorations. Paul began his career in law enforcement with the Oklahoma City Police Department and then went on to retire as a lieutenant with the El Paso Police Department. He also retired as head park ranger at Lake Texoma State Park. Along with his much loved wife of 75 years, Bobbie, he raised 4 daughters, enjoyed his two grandchildren, and was pleased to learn that he would have great grandchildren to carry on his legacy. Paul and his wife traveled the US in their RV and lived their golden years in Fort Worth. He was an accomplished genealogy researcher and had penned a collection of short stories. Paul was a proud Master Mason and member of the Sons of the American Revolution. A man of honor and duty, Paul was a mentor to many and a trusted friend. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Joan Ming, daughter Ruthie Ming DeLeon, and granddaughter Kathryn Ashli Murphy. He is survived by his devoted wife Bobbie Ruth Cornett Ming, daughters Paula Kathryn Murphy, Toni Skartwed, and Traci Ming, and daughters’ spouses Harry Murphy and partner Marycarol Hennessy, John DeLeon, and David Skartwed, his grandson Aaron Armand DeLeon and wife Alexandra and their children, his great-grandchildren, Ayden and Ava DeLeon, his nephew Don Ming and wife Vedia along with Don’s children and their family. The family will celebrate Paul at a later date in a private gathering in El Reno, Oklahoma.

Becky and Patrick are 6C1R, Becky and Earline are 3C1R, Becky and Sharon are 4C, Becky and Jessica are 4C1R, Patrick and Earline are 5C2R, Patrick and Sharon are 6C1R, Patrick and Jessica are 7C, Patrick and Paul are 5C2R, Earline and Sharon are 3C1R, Earline and Jessica are 3C2R, Sharon and Jessica are 4C1R, and Jessica and Paul are 3C2R. Paul is in one triangulation with Patrick and Jessica and is the 2C1R of Becky. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all six are John Wheat Jr and Ann, the fourth GGPs of Paul and Earline, fifth GGPs of Becky and Sharon, and sixth GGPs of Patrick and Jessica.
  • Paternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on Gedmatch consisting of Paul Ming, Becky Byrns and Sharon Hill who share a 24cM segment on chromosome 6. Paul and Becky are 4C1R, Paul and Sharon are 3C1R; and Becky and Sharon are 5C1R. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are Zachariah Wheat and his unknown wife, the 3rd GGPs of Paul, 4th GGPs of Sharon, and 5th GGPs of Becky.
  • Paternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on Gedmatch consisting of Paul Ming, Jessica Welton, and Sharon Hill who share an 8.2cM segment on chromosome 6. Paul and Jessica are 3C2R, Paul and Sharon are 3C1R, and Jessica and Sharon are 4C1R. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are Samuel Wheat and Cynthia Stephenson, the 2nd GGPs of Paul, the 3rd GGPs of Sharon, and the 4th GGPs of Jessica.
