Biography

Birth and Parents: Ray Harold Mixson was born on 21 February 1928 in Georgia, United States, son of Ray Harold Mixson (1902 - 1985) and Ruth Currie (Currie) Mixson (1904 - 1972).^[1]

Marriage: He was married to Kathryn Cocke on 26 May 1951. They were the parents of at least three children, all of whom are potentially still living.^[1]

From his obituary: "An Eagle Scout, Ray graduated from Savannah High School, where he was a member of the state championship rifle team and a cheerleader. Ray entered the United States Army at the age of 18, and later graduated from Armstrong Junior College and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Emory University in 1952." He was employed by "...Naval Coastal Systems Center, where he worked as a physicist in various capacities, until retiring in 1990 with a total of 40 years lifetime federal service."^[1]

Death and Burial: Ray Harold Mixson passed away on 26 May 2017 at age 89. He was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Panama City, Bay County, Florida.^[1][4]
