“En Pinos (Zacatecas, México) á los diez de Julio de 1884, mil ochocientos ochenta y cuatro á los 10, diez del día ante el Juez interino del Estado Civil C. José E. Navarro compareció Fermin Rodriguez, casado, jornalero, mayor de edad, vecino de la Hacienda de la Jaula (Zacatecas) y presentó vivo á un niño examinado que es hijo legítimo (?) y habido en su esposa Agustina Govea que nació en dicho Hacienda el día 29 (veintinueve) del mes pasado (Junio) á los 11 (once) del día que le puso el nombre Pedro Rodriguez; los abuelos paternos son Felix Rodriguez y Eugenia Molina y los maternos son Silverio Govea y Rita Trejo. El Juez á leer esta acta y se conformaron su contenido en presencia de los testigos Tiburcio Rios y Julia Torres casados, jornaleros, mayores de edad, de la misma vecindad. Firmé, el Juez y no los demás, porque no saber = José E. Navarro = firmado.”^[3]

"In Pinos (Zacatecas, Mexico) on July 10, 1884, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four at 10:10 a.m. before the interim Civil Status Judge C. José E. Navarro appeared Fermin Rodriguez, married, day laborer, older than age, neighbor of Hacienda de la Jaula (Zacatecas) and presented alive to an examined child who is a legitimate son (?) and born to his wife Agustina Govea who was born in said Hacienda on the 29th (twenty-ninth) day of last month (June) at 11 (eleven) of the day he was named Pedro Rodriguez; the paternal grandparents are Felix Rodriguez and Eugenia Molina and the maternal are Silverio Govea and Rita Trejo. The Judge read this act and its content was confirmed in the presence of the witnesses Tiburcio Ríos and Julia Torres, married, day laborers, of legal age, from the same neighborhood. I signed, the Judge and not the others, because not knowing = José E. Navarro = signed."

“En la Hacienda del Sacramento (Gómez Palacio, Durango) á las 3 (tres) de la del día 20 (veinte) de Marzo de 1904 (mil novecientos cuatro), ante mi, Concepcion Salaran, Juez del Estado Civil en esta Hacienda, compareció Fermín Rodriguez, casado, mayor de edad, jornalero, vecino de esta Hacienda y dijo: que el día 25 (veinticinco) del pasado (mes) a las 11 (once) de la noche nació J. Matías Rodriguez, á quien presenta su hijo legitimo y de esposa Agustina Govea, que vive. Sus abuelos paternos Felix Rodriguez y Eugenia Molina pintor, y materno Silvino Govea y Rita Trejo en que viven. Fueron testigos en este abuelos G.G.(?) Ascensión Macias y Juan Parra, casados, mayor de edad, jornaleros y de vecino, de este Hacienda, Leí de este acta a los presente, fueron conformó (pero no) firmando (porque) no saber. "In the Hacienda del Sacramento (Gómez Palacio, Durango) at 3 (three) o'clock on March 20 (twenty) 1904 (nineteen hundred and four), before me, Concepcion Salaran, Civil Status Judge in this Hacienda, Fermín Rodríguez, married, of legal age, day laborer, resident of this Hacienda, appeared and said: that on the 25th (twenty-fifth) day of last (month) at 11 (eleven) at night, J. Matías Rodríguez was born, to whom he presents his legitimate son and wife Agustina Govea, who lives. His paternal grandparents Felix Rodriguez and Eugenia Molina, painter, and maternal grandparents Silvino Govea and Rita Trejo in which they live. Witnesses in this were grandparents G.G.(Godparents?) Ascensión Macias and Juan Parra, married, of legal age, day laborers and a neighbor, of this Hacienda, I read this document to those present, they agreed (but did not) sign (because) they did not know (how to).
