Henry Power Charles Stanley Monck, 5th Viscount Monck of Ballytrammon was born on 8 January 1849. He was the son of Charles Monck 4th Viscount Monck of Ballytrammon and Lady Elizabeth Monck.
He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).
On 23 July 1874 Henry married Lady Edith Scott (daughter of John Henry Scott, 3rd Earl of Clonmell and Hon. Anne de Burgh). They had the folllowing children:
Henry gained the rank of Captain in the Coldstream Guards. He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882 and in the East Sudan Campaign in 1885.
He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of County Wicklow; held the office of High Sheriff of County Wicklow in 1887 and held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Dublin.
Upon the death of his father on 29 November 1894 he succeeded as the 2nd Baron Monck of Ballytrammon, co. Wexford [U.K., 1866]; as the 5th Baron Monck of Ballytrammon, co. Wexford [I., 1797] and as the 5th Viscount Monck of Ballytrammon [I., 1801].
He died on 18 August 1927 at age 78.[1]
