Biography

Edward Francis Mone was born in 1862 in New York City, the eldest child of Patrick Mone and Annie E. Blair. He married Mary Agnes Fleming and fathered seven daughters and three sons. Two sons survived to adulthood, but no sons had children to carry on the family name. Five of his daughters had children of their own: Jeanette, Anna, Ollie, Marge and Agnes. All of the children were born at home at 321 East 48th Street, Manhattan. The family were members of St. Bart's Episcopal Church in Manhattan. Edward Francis Mone's grandson stated, "Edward Mone was a Republican and held an elected position representing the lower east side of NYC [probably an Alderman]." Edward died in 1911 when his youngest child, Dorothy, was only seven.
