Biography

William was baptised on 22 July 1772 in Llansamlet, Glamorganshire, Wales by father James. [1]

On 26 April 1797 William married Ann Niblett in Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire. [2] The couple baptised daughter Cecilia in Horsley in 1798.

William died in 1837. His will notes he was a Carpenter, he left his tools to son Joseph. He had property and lane he left to executors John Clark of Nailsworth, son William and Son in law James Hill to create an income for his wife Ann for the rest of her life and then and divide proceeds between his children, and grand daughter Cecilia (daughter of deceased son James). [3]

He was baptised on 22/7/1772 in Llansamlet, Glamorganshire, Wales. Baptism records list his father as James.

The 1797 marriage record has his name as Munger but he signed it as Monger.

On 18/10/1803 he registered John Clarke as his apprentice Joiner in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. John was named as an Executor in William's Will in 1836.

He appears in the 1832 Electoral register in the Parish or Township of Avington as living in Nailsworth and the owner of Freehold house and land in Nailsworth which is occupied by John Jones.

His Will is dated 11/1/1836 and covers three pages. It was lodged in Nailsworth with the Consistory Court of Gloucester on 11/11/1837. It reveals that his occupation was carpenter, he had sons Joseph and William and a son in law named James Hill who was a Schoolmaster and all were living. His wife was also alive. He had a deceased son James who had a daughter named Cecilia Monger. He appointed John Clark (a Wheelright of Nailsworth), William Monger (his son) and James Hill (son in law) Executors of his Estate.
