—NOTE: The following parents have one primary source linking both these sisters with them, as well as a photograph claiming to show them with the Mother here and her other children. *Later half of 1900 — The MOORE family reunion showing only the women and the children. Probably taken during a visit to Boston from Canada, by the oldest sister, Mary VELMURE with her 2 youngest children along with one of the mothers. OR: During a visit to Canada from Boston by the younger three sisters: the youngest single sister, Jennette MOORE, and Eliza COOK and Christina SABLES with all their children. [40]
Bk row, L. to R. (4 daughters of Elizabeth McKENZIE (MOORE)):
(baby on lap), Walter Edmond or Howard COOK, (Eliza's 3rd oldest son), (10 Aug 1900), age <1 OR Fordyce E. VELMURE, (Feb 1900—3 Aug 1900), age 1-6 months. —NOTE: If this baby is Walter COOK, then this photograph was taken sometime after 10 August, but if this baby is Fordyce VELMURE, then it was taken sometime before 3 August. Either way this photograph was taken in 1900.
(seated in center), Elizabeth E. McKENZIE (MOORE), (the MOORE matriarch), (1827), age ~73 —NOTE: This 'Elizabeth' would be the most logical elderly woman for this photograph as all the ladies behind her, are her daughters. OR Elizabeth BOOTH (COOK), (the COOK matriarch), (1843), age ~53. —NOTE: Based on another photograph we have for this person, the ederly lady here, is likely this Elizabeth, the mother-in-law of Eliza. Both of these older ladies were living in Shediac New Brunswick at this time, but the probable reason they could have decided to take this photograph with her was that she was very sick and they knew she was about to die (14 Oct.), and they wanted a memory. Another possibility is that these photographs have been misidentified, which allows for the possibility that this lady is actually Elizabeth McKENZIE and the photographic evidence is wrong. If she is the correct person in this photograph, then the likely date is 1900, between 13 Jun (Eliza still in Boston) and 13 October, her death.
probably George Watson SABLES (Mary’s 3rd child), (1896), age ~5
Ft row, L. to R.:
probably Jeanette SABLES (Mary’s 4th child), (1894), age ~7
probably Mabel E. VELMURE, (Christina's oldest child), (1895), age ~6
probably Joseph or Fredericks Henry J. VELMURE, (Christina's 3rd child, a boy) (1898), age ~3
1901: On 31 March, Mary L. SABLES, age 32 (1869), of USA with Scotish ancestry and a Baptist, lived in York, New Brunswick, Canada with: [5]
Husband, Charles W. SABLES, age 45, of USA
Son, John A. SABLES, age 10, of USA
Daughter, Bealuah SABLES, age 8, of New Brunswick, Canada
Daughter, Jennie E. SABLES, age 6, of New Brunswick, Canada
Son, George W. SABLES, age 4, of Nova Scotia, Canada
1909: Though her actural immigration date is not recorded in the 1920 Census, her children are stated in the census to have immigrated in 1909. So apparently she immigrated close to that time. She is definitely in the Boston area by 1920 and seems to be the last of her family to move to Boston, at least 3 years after her mother moved. (See Bio of her mother, Elizabeth E. McKENZIE (MOORE))[10]
