Isabella Morris was born about 1807 in Rutherford, Jefferson, Tennessee, United States, daughter of John Henry Morris (1761–1811) and Nancy Elizabeth Tilley (1793–1810).

Isabella had a brother, William Henry Tilley (1808–1896).
