Born on the 3rd of March 1777, George Mundy was the 3rd son of Edward Miller Mundy [1] and his first wife, Frances Meynell. He was educated at Eton and at the Portsmouth Naval Academy 1789-92. [1]
Serving in the Royal Navy he was midshipman in 1792 and lieutenant in 1796, commander in 1798 and captain in 1801. [1]

George died, unmarried, on the 9th of February 1861. [1]
