Biography

Frances Victoria L Musick was born on 16 January 1869 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Frederick William Musick and Lucinda Jane Kight.

She married James Monroe Gibson, a widower with children, on 25 August 1887 in Tallapoosa County. Victoria and James had eight children together, six of which lived past infancy.

She passed away on 15 January 1950 in Muskogee County, Oklahoma. She is buried at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.

The Muskogee Daily Phoenix, Tuesday, 17 January 1950:

Rites To Be Wednesday For Mrs. Frances Gibson
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Victoria Gibson, 81, who died her at the home of a daughter Sunday afternoon, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Central Church of Christ, with Elton D Dilbeck pastor officiating.
Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of the Leschen Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gibson would have been 81, yesterday. She was born January 16, 1869, in Alabama and had lived in Muskogee for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ, and had been making her home with Mrs. H. D. Young, 801 Choctaw, a daughter.
In addition to Mrs. Young, she is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. C. C. Weaver, Belleville, Kan.; Mrs. J. P. Featherston, Claremore, and Mrs. B. T. Carver, Great Bend, Kan.; two sons, Oscar Gibson and Crafton Gibson, both of Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers for the service will be W. P. Stewart, Charley Arbogast, J. W. Case, W. B. Luck, M. L. Chastain and W. B. Pennington.
