Biography
The daughter of Joseph Marcellus Waldorf (1842-1909) and Emma Lucelia Newell (1874-1913), Virginia was born in Reading in 1873. She married Horace Fenton Sr. in Reading when she was 22, on June 29, 1898.[1] They moved to Milwaukee, where Horace began his lifetime work as a proofreader in the newspaper business.[2] Their children included:
George Marcellus (1900-1983)
Horace Seth (1902-1936)
Lucelia Florence (1905-1920)
Lawrence McGee (1908-1981)
Seth Errol (1911-1916)
Arthur Wendell (1917-1960)
They made their home in Milwaukee's Ward 15,[3] and then in Ward 21,[4] before settling in South Milwaukee.[5][6][7] After the death of her husband in 1946, Virginia moved to California, where her oldest son, George, lived. She passed away in Riverside, California at the age of 83[8] and is buried at Union Cemetery (section 29) in Milwaukee.[9]
