Family lore has it that Elizabeth and her husband, Robert, were cousins. Also, that they came to the US in 1793. Source of this information is notecards created by Howard Tait, and corrected by Howard's mother, Jennie Patterson Tait. Jennie was a great granddaughter of this Elizabeth and Robert. Jennie < Robert < Robert < Robert & Elizabeth. The contents of these notecards were shared by John Tait, Jennie's grandson, with Susan Cocker Hopkins, via a series of e-mails.
Additional children who lived to adulthood and for whom there is not yet burial information were the following:
- James Patterson, b.1798-1799 Pennsylvania, lived with parents, died before March 1867. That date comes from brother William, in a 2 March 1867 codicil to his will mentions being one of James' heirs & arranges for dispersal of his portion when it comes to his own heirs. Indeed, James last appears in a census in 1860, where he is a carpenter, living with Elizabeth, of the age to be his sister. His real estate is now worth $25,600, whereas, in 1850, when his brother, Andrew was still alive and they were living together, each had land worth $7,500. Best guess is that James inherited from Andrew. A good assumption is that James is buried in the same cemetery as his parents.
- Andrew Patterson is in the 1850 census, age 47, but is not in the 1860 census. As far as is known, he did not head west to be with his brothers, William or Robert in Ashland and Richland counties

But Elizabeth was born in New Jersey, where her parents were married and all her siblings were born. Also, the marriage field here says the marriage ended in 1774. Clicking through to the linked husband here, his bio says his first wife Elizabeth died in 1774. Yet the profile here also says she lived to 1852. And it says she died in Ireland, in spite of her family appearing the U.S. censuses of 1850 and 1860.
