• Het jaer achtien honderd drij en twintig, den tweeden de maend february ten negen uren voormiddag is voor ons meyer ampteneir van den Borgerlijken stant de gemijnte van Neerijssche omtrek van Loven provincie Zuyd Brabant, gecompareert Guilielmus Neys oud acht en twintig jaeren landbouwer woonachtig binnen deze gemeynte, de welken ons vertoont heeft een kind van het mannelijk geslacht geboren gisteren eersten dagens maend ten vier ueren ‘smorgens, van hem comparant ende van Anna Maria Neys, zijne huisvrouwe, aen ‘t welk hij verklaart te geven den voornaem van Guilielmus De voornoemde verklaring en vertoning geden in de tegenwordigheyd van Engelbrechtus De Coster oud dry en vertig jaeren, landmeter , ende van franciscus Lahaye, oud een en vertig jaeren, landbouwer, bijde woonachtig te Neerijssche, de welke hebben met ons deezen tegenwoordigen act van geboorte getekent, naer dat denzelven hun was voorgelezen , als ook de comparent.

• In the birth certificate we read Neijs rather then Nijs which is the form we find in most of the paternal line. The assumption is that the scribe mistook an adornment of the capital letter "N" as an minuscule letter "e".
