Biography

Capt. Hon. Henry Lewis Noel was born on November 30, 1824.1 He was the son of Charles Noel, 1st Earl of Gainsborough and Arabella Hamlyn-Williams. He married, firstly, Emily Elizabeth Noel, daughter of Rev. Hon. Baptist Wriothesley Noel and Jane Baillie, on 27 May 1852.1 He married, secondly, Anne Adelaide Burnside, daughter of Reverend John Burnside, on 31 August 1892. He gained the rank of "Captain" in the service of the 68th Foot. He held the office of High Sheriff of Rutland in 1863. He died on June 7, 1898 at age 73.
