Mary Norris was the daughter and eventual heir of Thomas Norris MP (1653-1700) of Speke Hall, Liverpool, Lancashire, England and his wife Magdalene (Aston) Norris (1672-1709).[1] She may have been born on 22 March 1698 at Speke Hall. [2]
She married on 9 December 1736, Lord Sidney Beauclerk (1703-1744), the fifth son of of Charles Beauclerk, 1st Duke of St Albans, and his wife Lady Diana de Vere. Lord Sidney was a notorious fortune-hunter. They were married by his brother Charles who was Prebendary of Windsor. [3] Post marriage she was styled as Lady Mary Beauclerk.
They had one son;
Her father died in June 1700 and left the Speke estates to his younger brothers, but gave his widow and daughter one third of the income each, though this caused a number of disputes and litigations.[1] In 1730,[1] or 1736, after the death of her uncles, Mary succeeded to the Speke estates, but they weren't maintained well. [5]
Mary was noted as being worth more than £60,000 and was said to be very beautiful. She was of Pall Mall, when they were married. They christened their son, Topham on 19 January 1740 in St James Church, Westminster.
widowed Mary and son, Topham then sold their properties and became the first occupants of 28 Upper Brook Street in 1745, and lived there until 1753, when they moved to Charles Street near Berkeley Square, London. [6]
Her husband died 23 November 1744,[3] and Mary died 20 November 1766.

Also, if her maiden name is Norris then it's more likely her father's last name is also Norris, not Beauclerk; and that Beauclerk is her married name since she married Sidney Beauclerk.
