Hello Bernard, I was interested to see you are looking for Jehan Dior (My Maternal Grandfather) Your mother Mary may have been my Grandmother Margaret Larkin's Sister!..
Bernard, thanks for your message! We'd love to denote our Irish speakers on WikiTree. You could edit your biography to add this if you consider yourself natively bilingual and want to mention basic German and Arabic:
{{ Languages | ga | en | de-1 | ar-1 }}
If you feel you have only one native language and don't want to bother mentioning German and Arabic, you could use one of these:
{{ Languages | ga | en-4 }}
{{ Languages | en | ga-4 }}
This way your profile will say either:
Is Gaeilgeoir dúchasach é an t-úsáideoir seo.
or
Tá Gaeilge beagnach dúchasach ag an úsáideoir seo.
Go raibh maith agat -
(That's all I've got unless you want a song in a poor accent, but I can dance a mean West Clare Plain set!)
Bernard, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add
{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}
to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.
It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:
