When Mary L. Obar was born in 1853 in Arkansas[1], her father, William Henry Obar[1], was 31, and her mother, Eva Keller[1], was 28. She married John Harrison Fraley on July 7, 1872.[2] They had five children in 11 years. She died in 1887 in Richland Township, Crawford, Sebastian, Arkansas, at the age of 35.
Mary L. Obar is the third oldest child and was living in Prairie Township (Charleston), Franklin County, Arkansas when she was 9 years old.[1] The town was originally named Charles Town after Charles R. Kellum in the 1840s, but over the years people just began to pronounce it as Charleston. As she was growing may have knew the town by its original name.[3]

Mary's father died when she was only 8 years old. Her Mother and the rest of the siblings move in with other Keller family members.[1] By 1870 the family is still living in Prairie Township, but the rest of the Keller family is gone.[4]
Mary Lucinda Obar marries John Harrison Fraley and they settle in Big Creek (Lavaca), Sebastian, Arkansas and began to raise a family. She worked her entire life as a homemaker, farmers wife managing the household and caring for the rest of the family.
Mary Lucnida died in 1887 in Alma, Crawford, Arkansas at the age of 35.
