Biography

Matthew was born on 3 April 1769. His parents were Matthew and Ann Orgel. He was presented at the Baptist Church, Melbourne, Derbyshire.[1]

In the 1841 census Matthew (age 70) was in Measham, Derbyshire, England.[2]

In the 1851 census Matthew (age 80) was the father-in-law of Samuel Piner in Measham, Derbyshire, England.[3]

Matthew Orgill, thatcher of Measham, Derbyshire, made his last will on 23 October 1852 dividing his property equally between all of his children, unnamed apart from his son Henry Orgill, executor. The will was proved at Lichfield on 29 December 1852.[4]

This is the wrong Matthew Orgill for this link, he would have been a father at age 10 or 11! It should be Matthew Orgill born about 1729, Nuneaton, Measham. I have a handed down tree my father did, but looking for record to cite. I don't believe Mary (Orgill) Piner is the daughter either.
