Biography

Hannah was born about 1857. She was the second daughter of William Orr and Margaret McMurtrie. [1] They were from Ayrshire, Scotland; although lived at Glenarm, Larne, County Antrim, Ireland from 1857-1861. (I have not identified whether Hannah was born before or after the move to Glenarm).

After her father passed away in 1876, Hannah and sister Eliza came out to New Zealand to pave the way for her mother and most of their siblings to follow. [2]

On 16 June 1891 at her mother's residence (New Zealand), she married John Pearce Richardson of Baltimore, Maryland, USA. [1] [3]

She passed away 17 March 1942 at Heidenberg House, Heidelberg, Victoria, Australia, in her 85th year. She was survived by Ella Winifred (Mrs T. M. Orr) (step-daughter), and son William Longmuir Richardson; and also had a deceased son James Kelsey Richardson. [4]

Research Notes

She does not appear in the 1871 Scotland census with the rest of the family. Not sure why.
