Biography

Thomas Pearce was born on September 27, 1881 in Bayou Chene, St. Martin, Louisiana, United States, son of John Wallace Pearce (1828–1915) and Eugenia Delphine Coussou (1846–1933).[1][2]

Thomas (18) married Margaret Josephine Persilver (14) (born on September 18, 1885 in Louisiana; daughter of Emmanuel Ignatius Persilver and Marguerite Josephine Daigle) on May 8, 1900 in St. Martin, USA.[3] Their children were

Thomas (age 31) married Mary E. Pissarello (age 24), daughter of Ulysee Pissarello (1850–1924) and Marie Honora Orcutt (1859– ) before 1913 in Bayou Chene, Louisiana. Their son was:

Thomas (age 36) married Florence Carline (age 20) in Louisiana, daughter of James Edward Carline (1871–>1940) and Louisa Armandine Gamba (1881–>1940) on 31 January 1917. Their son was

Thomas married Edmae Marie Mendoza (widow of Charles Edward Kelly), daughter of Joseph Euphemon Mendoza (1858–1915) and Euphemie Boudreaux (1859– ) 1924 in St. Martin, Louisiana. Their children were:

In 1900, F Thomas Pierce (18) worked as a fisherman, was married to Margaret Persilver (14) living in Police Jury Ward 2, Saint Martin with E Delphine Pierce (53) his mother Delphine (42). Margaret's brother Manuel Persilver (20), lived with them and worked as a laborer. Only Manuel could read or write.[8]

In the 1930 census, Frank (age 49), head of household, self-employed fisherman, lived with his wife Edmae (age 39), their son, John (age 5), their daughter, Sophie (age 5 months). Edmae's children from her marriage to Charles Kelley, sons, Irvin Kelley (age 17), Gilbert (age 16), Harry (age 7), daughters, Fannie (age 14), Elda (age 10) were being reared as the children of Frank in Police Jury Ward 2, St. Martin, Louisiana, United States.[9]

In the 1940 census. Frank (age 59), head of household, fisherman, lived with his wife, Edmae (age 54), Edmae's son, Harold Kelley, (age 14), their son, John (age 13), their daughter, Sophie (age 10), in Bayou Chene, St. Martin, Louisiana, United States.[10]

Thomas registered for the draft in 1942 in Lake Chicot, St Martin, Louisiana, United States.[11]

In the 1950 census, Frank (age 69), head of household, lived with his wife Edmae (age 62), in Morgan City, St Mary, Louisiana, United States. Their single son, John P. (age 24), crew boat captain in oil transportation, lived with them.[12]

Thomas died on July 19, 1970 in Plaquemine, Iberville, Louisiana, aged 88. He was buried in Morgan City Cemetery and Mausoleum, Morgan City, St.[2]
