John PENNINGTON, faught for the Union during the Civil War in the 5th Regt. Cav. S. M. Volunteers, Company F, Private, under Capt. Brown. He enlisted Mar 20, 1862 in Moniteau Co., MO. He was mustered into active duty on Apr 13, 1862 in Boonville, Cooper Co., MO. He was mustered out of service on Apr 12, 1865.

Moniteau Co. Historical Society have record of John Pennington and Mary Armitage being married in Moniteau Co., MO. And I have a copy of the marriage certificate that shows Cooper Co., MO on 31 Jan 1864 (forwarded to me by Jack Pennington) the place of marriage in the presence of: Mr. and Mrs. Brown, Signed: Hamp Brown, Justice of the Peace.
Therefore, there are two different marriage records with same date but two different Counites in Missouri so I'm listed both Counties for place of marriage. [2]
