In 1810, she was sent to Pennsylvania:
Attended the Moravian Female Seminary, an institution supported by the Moravian brethren. The seminary was created by Benigna, the daughter of Count Nikolaus Ludwig Zinzendorf. In 1784, it admitted young girls from outside the religious community.
East Florida Herald, April 21, 1826. Charles Furman held the Fish lands until his death since the courts in Florida ruled in 1825 that the Spanish grant was, indeed, legal. Venancio Sanchez, his brother in law, was his agent in St. Augustine.
Jessie died of consumption shortly after the birth of her son, and was interred in the Furman family mausoleum in Charleston.
