Champaign Woman Dies in Hospital; Funeral to Be Wednesday. Mrs. Louisa Barber, 80, a resident of Champaign for the past 30 years, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Burnham city hospital of complications resulting from a fracture of her right leg which she suffered last Friday in a fall. She lived at 704 West White street, Champaign. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mittendorf funeral home with Rev. Robert N. McDonald, pastor of First Baptist church, Champaign, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. Mrs. Barber was born June 11, 1855 in Shelbyville, Ky., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frances John Peter, and was married to Alfred C. Barber Mar. 30, 1870. He died Jan. 24, 1909. She leaves eight children: John and James, Champaign; Benjamin, Bondville; Oscar, McLeansboro; Mrs. C.J. Foster, Bondville; Mrs. Nellie Leach, Champaign; Mrs. Ethel Burton, Champaign; Mrs. Fannie Austin, Champaign. [The Evening Courier, Urbana, Illinois, 16 Jun 1936, p. 3].
