John was born in 1709.

Captain John Phelps died in Hubbardston on 23 March 1787, in his 78th year. His widow Susannah (Gates) Phelps, lived on dying in Hubbardston on 26 Aug 1784 in her 70th year.^[1]

John Phelps and Susannah Gates were the parents of: John, Sarah, Simon, Aaron, Elizabeth, Moses, Catherine, Louisa, Susannah.
