Biography

Addison was born in Jaffrey, New Hampshire in 1817, the son of Jonas Pierce and Lucinda Bailey.

He married Milly Nichols Prince (1812-1900), daughter of Willard Prince (1783-185) and Anne Stone (1777-1824). They were the parents of five known children.

In 1850, the census shows Addison and Milla (sic) and three children living in Charlton, Massachusetts. He is a farmer with $1200 of real estate.

By 1860 the family was living in Jaffrey, New Hampshire where Addison (49) is a farmer with real estate valued at $2000.00 and personal estate valued at $1600.00. The household consists of Millie (47), Addison Jr (16), Clark (7) and Caroline (5).

The family is still in Jaffrey in 1870 when the census is completed on 22 Jun 1870, when the household consists of Addison (53), Millie (57), Clark (17) and Carrie (15). Addison is a farmer with real estate worth $3000.00 and personal estate worth $700.00. He lives next door to his brother Dexter.

The 1880 census of Jaffrey, New Hampshire conducted on 16 and 17 Jun 1880, shows Addison at age 63 and still a farmer living with Millie (67), married son Clark (27), also a farmer, Clark's wife Mary E Pierce (27), their daughters Bertha B Pierce (2) and Alta (6 months), as well as Addison's and Millie's daughter Carrie (25).

He passed away in 1888 in Jaffrey, New Hampshire where he is buried at the Conant Cemetery .
