Biography

This profile is part of the Pike Name Study.

Lucinda Pike was born at Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), on 6 Nov 1809, the daughter of Zeri Pike and Betsey (Farrington) Pike.[1]

Lucinda Pike was born in 1809, possibly in East Livermore, Maine.[2] She married Amos Goding sometime before 1860; she is included in his household as his wife in the 1860 census.[3]
Amos died in 1867, so Lucinda was noted as the Head of Household in the 1870 census. Her household included two of her unmarried children, Celinda and George. Her son-in-law, Gustavus Pease, and daughter Florilla (Goding) Pease also lived in Lucinda's household, along with three of their children, Lucinda's grandchildren, Lester, Minnie, and John.[4] Sylvanus W Burbank, who would later marry Lucinda's daughter Celinda also lived in Lucinda's household.[5] All of Lucinda's children had left home by 1880, and she was recorded on the census as Head of Household with herself as the only member of the household.[6]
Lucinda Pike Goding died in 1889. She was buried in Bean's Corner Cemetery in Franklin County, Maine. Also buried in the same cemetery are her husband, Amos, their young daughter Emma Lucinda Goding, and their daughter Mary Elizabeth (Goding) Bean and Mary's husband, Isaac Butterfield Bean.[7][8]
