PIKE.-October 13, at Young (suddenly), George, beloved son of the late W. J. and Susanna Pike and brother of Amy, Susan, Minnie, Eva, Maude, Ernest and Louie. At rest. [2]
Mr. George Pike, well known native of Young, was found dead in his bed on Sunday morning by his son George, at "Longview," Wombat Road. His wife, Mrs. Pike, was in Sydney, undergoing treatment. [3]
The death occurred suddenly at Young during the week of Mr. George Pike, at his residence, Longview, Wombat road. One of his daughters, Miss Una Pike, is a member of the nursing staff of the Boorowa Hospital. [4]
The death of Mr. George Pike, 55, at his home, Wombat-road, Young, on Sunday, removes a member of a pioneering family of the district. The late Mr. Pike was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Pike, of Inglewood, Young. It was at Inglewood that he was born. He assisted his father at Inglewood with farming and orcharding. His father was one of the pioneers of the Young district. [5]
THE Coroner (Mr. G. S. Whiteman) returned a verdict of heart failure due to pulmonary tuberculosis, at the inquest into the death of George Pike, 55 years, who was found dead in bed. Dr. A. W. J. Stocks said that the condition of acute pneumonia had supervened and caused death. [6]
