Édouard Pinel was born on October 10, 1827 in La Pocatière to Jean Baptiste Pinel and Angele Sirois. He was baptized the same day. His godparents were Pierre Sirois and Véronique Rouleau[1].
He married Adèle Gagnon on July 12, 1847 in Trois-Pistoles[2]. They had eight children:
Édouard and Adèle were residing in Chicoutimi with their children Joseph, Alfred, Mathilde, David, and William during the 1861 census. Édouard was working as a day laborer[13].
By 1871, the family had moved to the St-Laurent Ward of Lévis. Their household consisted of Edouard, a day laborer; his wife Adele; and their children: Mathilda, David, William, Eliza, and Emilie[14].
Édouard and Adèle were still residing in Lévis during the 1881 census with their two children David and Emilie. Both Édouard and David were working as day laborers[15].
By 1891, Édouard and Adèle had moved to Sayabec. Their granddaughter, Anna Bouvier, was living with them at the time. Édouard was working as a farmer[16].
Adèle died on May 9, 1893 in Val-Brillant, Québec. She was buried the next day[17].
Édouard died on November 10, 1895 in Saint-Jérôme at the age of sixty-eight. He was buried the next day. René Bouvier and Joseph Pinel were present at the burial[18].
