Biography

Emilie Lafrance was born on April 26, 1864 in Saint-Romuald to Édouard Pinel and Adèle Gagnon. She was baptized the next day. Her godparents were Gabriel Valleuc(?) and Elizabeth Beaudouin^[1].

Her parents moved the family to the St-Laurent Ward of Lévis by 1871. Their household consisted of Edouard, a day laborer; his wife Adele; and their children: Mathilda, David, William, Eliza, and Emilie^[2].

Her family was still residing in the St-Laurent Ward of Lévis during the 1881 census. Their household consisted of Edouard, a day laborer; his wife Adele; and their children: David and Emelie^[3].

Emilie likely married René Bouvier around 1884. It's possible that the Anna Bouvier living in her parent's household in the 1891 census is their daughter^[4].

Emilie and René were living in the St-Louis Ward of Montreal in 1901. It states that René immigrated from France to Quebec in 1883^[5].

She married again to Guillaume Dugas on September 10, 1923 in Pierrefonds^[6].
