Biography

Joseph was born about 1751. He was the son of John Pippin and Elizabeth Mounticue. He passed away in 1833. [1]

Joseph Pippin's will was dated 14 Sep 1827 and proved in the May Court of 1833. He made legacies to his wife Temperance, daughters Lydia Austin, Martha Porter, Nancy Ward, and Luvina Spellings naming her husband as Britain Spellings. Son Joseph John Pippin was to receive the land his father was living on with the exception of a field given to wife Temperance for her natural life. He made a significant bequest to "grandson" William S. Bryan who was actually the grandson of his second wife Temperance - William Bryan was the son of Temperance's daughter Lucy Leigh and her husband Drewry Bryan. Lucy had died and apparently Joseph & Temperance had raised Lucy's son. Henry Austin and Ely Porter were made Executors. W. M. Hopkins and Daniel Hopkins were witnesses and proved the Will in open Court.
