William S was born in 1811. William S was the child of William Place and Esther Roys. William S passed away in 1874.[1] He was married about 1845 to Elizabeth Culver Stockwell who was a widow with one son. William received a land grant as the son of a Loyalist. The land was in Townsend Township, Norfolk County. With the formation of Brant County in the late 1840s, the northern concessions of Townsend were transferred to the new County apparently including the Place property. By this time William had become a shoemaker and was living in the Village of Scotland, Brant County, Ontario
M C. (mariscota on GEDmatch), b 1944 London, England, the daughter of Canadian Soldier. That soldier was the grandson of William. Mary's DNA matches a number of other descendants in this Place Line.
