Death of Mr. N. Player.—The death is announced of Mr. Nicholas Player, an old colonist, who arrived in the ship Java in 1840. Mr. Player, who was in his 79th year, died at Angaston of apoplexy. The JAVA sailed from Gravesend, London on 12 October 1839, and from Plymouth on 29 October, with Alexander Duthie (master), J. Smith (ship's surgeon) and H. C. Martin (surgeon superintendent) and arrived at Holdfast Bay, Adelaide on 6 February 1840.
