Biography

John Frederick Pola was born in 1881 in Moyston, Victoria, Australia, the son of Harriet (McNamara) Pola and John Peter Pola.^[1]

He married Jane O'Brien on 8 May 1913 at St Mary's Church in Hamilton, Victoria.^[2][3] Their children were:

• Thomas William Pola (1913–?)^[4]
• Margaret Mary Pola (1915–?)^[5]
• Frederick John Pola (1917–?)^[6]
• A fourth child

Frederick died in 1933 in Heywood, Victoria, aged 52 years.^[7][8]

   A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Mary's church on Thursday, the Very Rev. Father Shanahan officiating. and the contracting parties being Frederick John Pola, of Strathkellar, and Miss Jane O'Brien, daughter of Mr. M. O'Brien, of Macarthur. The bride was married in a travelling costume of navy blue, trimmed with cream silk, with a blue felt hat to match, and wore a set of valuable furs, the gift of the bridegroom. After the ceremony the bridal party partook of afternoon tea at the Hamilton Inn, prepared in Miss Grogan's best style, and subsequently left on their honeymoon tour.
