Biography

Victoria Polhill was born on 1 July 1837 at Plymouth, Devon, England, the daughter of Baker Polhill and Sarah Tomlin Castle ^[1]. She was the daughter of Baker Polhill and Sarah Castle and her siblings were Helen Polhill [half], Susannah Polhill [half], Edward Polhill [half], Charlotte (Polhill) Dean, George Polhill, Sophia Louise Polhill, Sarah Polhill and Baker Polhill.

She married Pearce Barton in 1860 at Mt Barker, South Australia, Australia ^[2][3] and their children who were born in South Australia were Sarah Sophia Barton, Charles Pearce Barton, Bessie Margarite Barton and Horace Dean Barton.

The family moved to New South Wales, Australia sometime after the death of Horace Dean in 1867 where Ernest Wilfred Barton, Pearce Barton, Victoria Mabel Barton, Henry Foote Barton and Alice Beatrice Barton were born.

Victoria passed away on 25 September 1899 at Lithgow, New South Wales Australia^[4] and was buried at Mt Victoria, New South Wales Australia^[5].
