Biography

Zollie Polston was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

Zollie Mansfield Polston was born on August 6, 1907 in Putnam, Tennessee, United States, son of John William Polston (1883–1965) and Millie Jeanette Baker (1884–1949).

Zollie married Ola May Boldin (born on July 18, 1907 in Putnam; daughter of Monroe Franklin Bolin and Cora Bell Qualls).

In the 1920 census Sollie (age 11) was the son of John Polston in Civil District 2, Putnam, Tennessee, United States.[1] John Polston 36 years, wife Millie Polston 35 years, son Sollie Polston 11 years, son Frank Polston 10 years, son Edward Polston 8 years, daughter Gracie Polston 4 years 11 months.

In the 1930 census Sallie (age 22) was the married head of household in District 09, White, Tennessee, United States.[2] Sallie Poston 22, wife Ola Mae Poston 22, daughter Verda M Poston 3, son Clifford Poston 1.

In the 1940 census Sollie (age 32) was the married head of household in Civil District 9, White, Tennessee, United States.[3] Sollie Polston 32, wife Jewel Polston 24, daughter Merie Polston 14, son Monroe Polston 11, son Milbern Polston 9, daughter Moline Polston 7, nephew Odes Doney 5.

In the 1950 census Zollie (age 42), Machine Operator, was the married head of household in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio, United States.[4] Zollie Polston 42 years, wife Minge Polston 34 years, son Clifford Polston 21 years, daughter Agnes Polston 17 years, lodger Charles Hulson 22 years.

Zollie died in April, 1987 in Crossville, White, Tennessee, aged 79.[5]
