Biography

George is believed to have been born c.1774 in Wexford, Ireland, and to have been brother to Susanna Poole and Ann Poole. [1]

He married Susan Gour in Ireland in 1802,[1][2] and had five children, all born in Ireland :

  1. John [1]
  2. Susan, who emigrated to America c.1831 with her sister Ann and members of the Kidd family (her father's in-laws) [1]
  3. Ann, who emigrated to America c.1831 with her sister Susan and members of the Kidd family (her father's in-laws) [1]
  4. George [1]
  5. William, who travelled to Canada with the family of his aunt, Ann. [1]

George also emigrated to America and by 1832 had settled in Cincinnati, where he worked as a hatter.[1]

He is reported to have died in 1860.[1]
