Oweida Mahaley Powell was born on 9 Jan 1925 in Beggs, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, United States, daughter of Ural Powell and Martha Adams.

The 1930 Census^[1] shows her at age 5 in the home of her parents in Beggs Township, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.

The 1940 Census^[2] shows her at age 15 in the home of her parents in Beggs Township, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.

She married LeRoy Brown about 1943. Their known children:

The 1950 Census^[3] shows her at age 25 with her husband and three children in the home of her widowed father in Beggs Township, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.

She died on 15 Apr 1995 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma,^{[4] [5]} and is buried at the Adams Family Cemetery #2 in Beggs, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.^[6] Excerpted from her obituary: ^[7]

"Oweida M. Brown, 70, of Beggs, Okla., died Saturday, April 15, 1995. Brown was born January 9, 1925 in Beggs to Ural and Martha Adams Brown. She was a teacher's aid at Beggs Public School.

Survivors included: Husband, Leroy Brown of Beggs; two daughters - Anita Alexander and Partica Breedlove of Tulsa, Okla., one son, Leroy Brown, Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa; and one sister, Winnie Boon of Henryetta, Okla. She also had five grandchildren and three great grandchildren." ^[7]
