Mary was born in 1788. She passed away in 1860.
- Mary Powers, a daughter of Francis and Catherine [Goodlett] Powers, was born on August 3rd 1788 in the Spartanburg District of South Carolina.
On February 10th 1810, Mary married James Nickels Gaston, a son of Thomas and Sarah [Nichols] Gaston. This union was blessed with the following known children:
- Hamilton Rosborough Gaston (1811-1891)
- Amzi Williford (1813-1841)
- Thomas Pinckney Gaston (1815-1897)
- Sarah Adeline {m. Hawkins}(1817-1897)
- William Powers (1823-1837)
- Joseph James (1827-1849)
