Biography
The daughter of Charles Prisbrey and Lemira (Bowen) Prisbrey, Philomela Prisbrey was born in the village of Medina, Michigan in 1837.[citation needed] Her father died in 1842 and her mother remarried, marrying William Pierce. In 1850, she lived with her mother, stepfather, and siblings, residing in Ogden Township, Michigan.[1] Philomela Prisbrey married Asa Arnold Crane (1828-1895), the son of Turner Crane and Phoebe Arnold, having two known children together:
Charles Turner Crane (1857-1939)
Allen Prisbrey Crane (1880-1927)
They made their home in 1860 in Asa Crane's mother's household in Madison Township, Michigan.[2] By 1880, they had established their own household in Madison Township.[3][4] Asa Crane passed away in 1895; afterward, Philomelia Crane lived with her son, Charles, and his family, in Madison Township.[5][6][7]
Philomela Crane passed away in Adrian, Michigan at the age of 83[8] and is buried at Crane Cemetery in Palmyra, Michigan.[9]
