Biography

Reginald Quilliam is an Anzac who served in World War One.
Roll of Honor
Lance Corp Reginald Quilliam was Killed in Action during World War I.

Reginald was born in 1888. He was the son of James Quillian and Bella Jury.

He attended New Plymouth Boys' High School and Nelson College (1904-1906). He worked as a Law Clerk with the firm Govett & Quilliam, New Plymouth.

Reginald was single when the 1st World War Broke out. He enlisted and served as a Private with the Wellington Infantry Battalion, 5th Reinforcements. At enlistment his next of kin was recorded as his father, James H. Quilliam, Solicitor, New Plymouth, Taranaki.

EMBARKATION DETAILS WW1 13 Jun 1915-24 July 1915 from Wellington, New Zealand to Suez, Egypt. HMNZT 24. Vessel was Maunganui.

His three brothers Newton, Ronald and Cecil also served in the War. Cecil was killed in action.

Tragically Reginald was killed in action on 3 August 1916 at the Battle of the Somme. He was about 27 years of age.
